DSiWare, WiiWare: EU Nintendo Update - Military Madness, Ironclad, And More

militarywiiw.jpg

Despite some earlier press releases making it sound like Castlevania: Rondo of Blood was coming out today, but that's not the case - but the Hanbai Festival for Virtual Console has started with some new import titles.

Lode Runner and Ironclad are now available for 600 and 1,000 Points each - Lode Runner already bested on the system by Battle Lode Runner, so it seems like a bit of a waste, but Iron Clad is a pretty sweet shooter.

For the WiiWare release this week we've got Military Madness. Popping up late last year on the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network, this WiiWare version has finally made it out. It's fully intact compared to its HD brethren, so if you're up for some turn based tank action, give it a look for 1,000 Points.

For DSiWare we've got some slim pickings - Elemental Masters for 800 Points, 4 Travellers: Play Spanish for 800 Points and Simply Mahjong and Simply Sudoku for 200 Points each.

DSiWare, WiiWare: Chillingo's Sneezies Coming To WiiWare

sneezies.jpg

Chillingo's chain reaction puzzler Sneezies will be coming to WiiWare, says the German USK rating board.

A simple game, Sneezies plays similarly to Every Extend Extra on the PSP - create a destruction point and see a chain reaction flow through the items on screen. Except instead of spiky shapes you're making cute little characters sneeze.

The iPhone version is a super simple game, and going by the Dracula Unleashed port they probably won't be doing much more to the game. If they are continuing this way I do hope they bring Angry Birds and Defender Chronicles to the platform - they'd fit in perfectly with the Wii Remote.

DSiWare, WiiWare: NA Nintendo Update: Max & The Magic Marker, Finaly Fantasy II (ie; IV) And More

maxmagicmarker1.jpg

This week's Nintendo Update will leave Wii owners with some quality games to play - notably Max & The Magic Marker for 1,000 Wii Points as well as Dracula: Undead Awakening, also for 1,000 Points.

But hey, we finally have a Virtual Console game we should be happy about - Final Fantasy II, aka IV if you're going by the correct numbering scheme, which you can get for 800 Points. Odd that they're calling it number 2 in this release - I would have thought they'd try to keep away of the confusing numbering system.

For DSiWare we've got Elemental Masters, a fantasy card game which doesn't look too bad going by the screenshots. We also have the DSiWare version of Dracula for 500 Points, 4 TRAVELLERS - Play Spanish, a mini game collection to help you learn Spanish for 800 Points, and finally Flips: The Bubonic Builders for 500 Points.

DSiWare, WiiWare: EU Nintendo Update - Mega Man 10, BIT.TRIP VOID, Dark Void Zero And More

megaman10eu.jpg

Man, this might be the best weekend start Europe's had in a long time for the Nintendo Stores - quality stuff all around. Heck, I could buy most of these without blinking.

Mega Man 10 is now available on WiiWare for 1,000 Points, BIT.TRIP VOID (a little late compared to its American release) is now available for 500 Points for those with a Wii, both top-quality titles. The side dish is a new Virtual Console release - Zaxxon for 500 Points.

On the DSiWare front we've got 4 releases - Dark Void Zero is finally out for 500 Points, Pinball Pulse: The Ancients Beckon for 500 Points, Globulos Party for 500 Points, Flips: The Bubonic Builders for 500 Points, and finally Gameloft's Real Football 2010 for 800 Points.

Big week - you can actually buy something!

DSiWare: Fire Panic Announced For DSiWare

firepanicshots.jpg

RTL Interactive's Playtainment division and Yullaby Games have announced Fire Panic for DSiWare, a new puzzle game featuring 250 missions.

The game appears to be similar to the popular Flight Control, but in a more controlled environment - draw the direction you want the fire tucks to take, and take care of the fires. Yullaby recently made Magnetis for WiiWare, which received good reviews, so hopefully this game will be good for a simple title.

DSiWare: Globulos Party DSiWare Game Out Next Week

French studio Globz have announced their game Globulos Party will be hitting DSiWare next week in both North America and Europe.

Globulos Party features several kinds of games - Soccer, Football, Rugby and the sort, but the catch is that it's all turn based - you aim your rotund playmates and shoot them across the screen to meet your objective - in this case, hitting a ball into the goals while avoiding the other team.

It's got a great, simple look to it and will be available for just 500 Points, which for 20 games over 50 courses isn't half bad. Give the trailer a look, you might see something you like.

DSiWare, WiiWare: EU Nintendo Update - Castlevania Rebirth, Dracula: Undead Awakening, Bird & Bombs And More

castlevaniatarfinally.png

It only took 2 months but Europe has finally gotten its hands on Castlevania: The Adventure Rebirth for WiiWare. Grab it today for 1,000 Points.

Also on WiiWare this week is Reel Fishing Challenge II - it's been out in the US for a while, but now it's available for and apparently isn't too bad for what it is. Grab that for 500 Points. Finally, you can grab Dracula: Undead Awakening, a port of the iPhone title for 1,000 Points - interestingly enough this is also available on DSiWare this week for 500 Points.

On DSiWare we've got Bird & Bombs - which popped up in America as Spotto! last week and is only 200 Points, Zoo Frenzy - a simulation game from Gameloft for 800 Points, and two new pieces of Electroplankton content.

There is no Virtual Console stuff this week - we've had a pretty weak year for it, oddly enough. Hopefully we'll see more of it soon.

DSiWare: NMS 2010 - Metal Torrent DSiWare Trailer

If there's one thing DSiWare would be perfect for, it's top-down shooters, and Arika is happy to oblige. Metal Torrent is a bullet hell shooter with a twist - destroying enemies creates cubes, grab more cubes and your score goes up.

Unique to this DSiWare game is online Leaderboards - you can compete against friends and the world with your score, fantastic news, it should really happen more.

Expect to see Metal Torrent in the Spring.

DSiWare: Nintendo Media Summit: X-Scape Trailer

While we've previously clamored for information regarding Q-Games' DSiWare releases, the Nintendo Media Summit has given Nintendo the perfect excuse to release a trailer for the 4th title from the PixelJunk developer - X-Scape.

Also known as 3D Space Tank in Europe, X-Scape is the sequel to X, a Japanese only Game Boy game that used Vector graphics made 20 years ago. This was Argonaut Software's first Gameboy title, which developed the original Star Fox and was also a game several Q-Game developers worked on.

From the trailer it looks like it continues the simple graphic style of the original, but goes far beyond it. I'd actually say this looks more like Star Fox than Star Fox Command did, which is great!

X-Scape is set to launch in Spring, so expect it very soon.

DSiWare: Puffins Retail Title Splits Up For DSiWare

puffinspuffinspuffins.jpg

Since the launch of the DSiWare Nintendo have released numerous cut-down versions of their retail titles - Touch Golf, Brain Training and the like. Now Other Oceans Interactive plan to do the same thing with Puffins.

Puffins Let's Race, Let's Fish and Let's Roll have all been separately rated by the German USK rating board. All three are mini games straight out of Puffins: Island Adventure, a game that came out mid-2009, and while the retail game featured poor reviews a cheaper alternative might suit the game better.

Who knows? Maybe they've expanded on the concepts of the original - I mean Other Oceans Interactive did just make Dark Void Zero for DSiWare.
