XBLA: XBLA Update - The Maw Is The Deal Of The Week, Castle Crashers Is Deal Of The Day, No New Release This Week

themawcheap.jpg

In an odd turn of events, there will be no new release for the Xbox Live Arcade this week. Admittedly it's a horribly time of year to release anything, and honestly - who's going to pay attention to something this week? Certainly not PR companies - they're off on their holidays.

This time of year has usually been left to games like SpongeBob SquarePants: Underpants Slam and Merv Griffin's Crosswords and Puzzle Arcade - while not specifically bad games, they're games Microsoft know that their audience isn't particularly jumping for. What sort of crazy company would release a retail game this year, honestly?

There is a few awesome deals though - The Maw is now available this week for just 400 Points to Gold members, and for today only Castle Crashers is 560MSP - more than half off. Go grab it now.

The next two weeks include Matt Hazard: Blood Bath and Beyond and Serious Sam HD, so there's something to look forward to in the future.
