While the game popped up earlier this week for DSiWare, I thought we should have a good look at this new DSiWare version of The Oregon Trail.

Based on the 1971 educational classic The Oregon Trail. Probably best known for the 1982 Apple II version, the game sets the player off to guide settlers from Missouri to Oregon in his wagon. The game recently became popular thanks to nerditry on the internet, and since then Gameloft developed a iPhone version of the game, which this version is based off of.

The game now includes numerous mini games - finding gold, fishing and more. It seems well suited for those of you who remember the original fondly, while also catering for newcomers.

The game is available through the DSiWare store for 800 Points, with a European release to follow.
