PSN, XBLA: Call Of Duty Classic Will Only Be Available To Modern Warfare 2 Hardened Edition Owners At First

Call Of Duty Classic will be coming out in the very near future - but don't expect it to be released on XBLA and PSN day-and-date with Modern Warfare 2 - that's for Hardened Edition owners only.

Community Manager Robert Bowling said earlier this month on Twitter that "Call of Duty: Classic for XBLA & PSN should be available for download on launch only for [those who buy] Hardened + Prestige Edition".

This has happened before - last year's Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts included a code to download the original Banjo-Kazooie on Xbox Live Arcade two weeks earlier than everyone else. This may be a bit of a detriment to the online multiplayer of COD: Classic, but thankfully there are no achievements that require multiplayer play.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 comes out in just two weeks time. I do wonder how many people will actually go back and play the original - heck, the game had health packs.
