DSiWare, WiiWare: Nintendo Revealed WiiWare, DSiWare LineUp For The Holiday Season

nintendolineup.jpg

Nintendo WiiWare and DSiWare is a little difficult to gauge sometimes, usually because we don't know what's coming out each and every week, but today Nintendo has revealed the majority of their holiday lineup, and it includes a lot of surprises.

For WiiWare it was revealed that the BIT.TRIP series will continue on after VOID - 3 more titles in the series will be released in Q4 of 2008 and Q1 of 2009. I've never really thought of the BIT.TRIP series as episodic, looks like I was wrong.

Gameloft will also be porting over The Oregon Trail to WiiWare - likely to be based off of their iPhone version.

On the DSiWare front we'll finally be seeing some more interesting games coming in the next few months. Nitnendo will be publishing Art Style: Digidrive, a port of the GBA game in the Japanese bit generation series, and like the original it is being developed by Q-Games, who are best known for their PixelJunk games on the PlayStation Network.

While we don't know anything about it yet, Pinball Pulse: The Ancients Beckon will be coming out in Q4. It's a perfect fit for the system, and I'm hoping that Metroid Prime Pinball developers Fuse Games are on this.

Fieldrunners will also be making its way to DSiWare in Q4 - following the very popular iPhone tower defense game and the recently announced PSP minis version. It will be interesting to see how well the game works on a system without true widescreen support.

It's been a long time coming, but Wayforward have finally revealed Shantae: Risky’s Revenge, a sequel to their Gameboy Color game which has since become a bit of an indie darling in the industry. A very welcome addition.

There's plenty more where that came from, continue reading to get the full list of games coming this holiday season.
