WiiWare: CastleVania Gets Rebirth Treatment

A surprise weekend update to the ESRB listings has revealed Castlevania: The Adventure Rebirth will be coming to WiiWare.

Konami have recently done Rebirth games for Gradius and Contra, but a Castlevania game is a whole other beast. From the title it sounds like it might be a remake of Castlevania: The Adventure, which was the very first Gameboy Castlevania title back in 1989. It stayed very close to the NES design of Castlevania titles, but was known to be very slow.

The description from the ESRB states:

"This is a side-scrolling action game in which players battle against monsters in Dracula's castle. Players use a chained whip to fight their way through halls and dungeons filled with zombies, skeletons, flying eyeballs, and bats. The enemy creatures frequently shoot projectiles and attack players in hand-to-hand combat. If players sustain too much damage, they keel over and emit a burst of red blood. Some rooms in the castle also have spikes or spears stained with red, blood-like splotches."

We should hopefully hear more about this game soon, so keep your eyes peeled.

look's like we're in for a classicvania treat!

First Sonic goes back to his old roots and now this makes it twice as better. (:

Between this and Lords of Shadow, Castlevania seems to be poised from prominence once again.

I was losing hope that a classic castlevania would return, there´s a bloody tear in my eye. Cant wait 2 get my hands on it....
