XBLA: Panzer Generals Returns As Turn-Based Card Game

Today Ubisoft have announced the return of a franchise not seen since 2000 - Panzer General. However things are a little different - it's not the hex-based turn based strategy game, instead it's a turn based card battle game based on the settings of the second World War.

Panzer General: Allied Assault is being developed by Petroglyph, creators of RTS games Star Wars: Empires At War and Universe At War. It will recreate some classic battles between 1944 and 1945, but based on a customizable, personalized deck of 60 digital cards.

With the popularity of Magic: The Gathering and a severe lack of anything else card based all year, this might fill in the hole for those who something new since Catan and Carcassone made it to the Xbox Live Arcade. It looks pretty good too.
