XBLA: Indie Watch - BitStream, Veks and Silence & Cheap Johnny Platform
After many months of darkness, it appears that the XBL Indie Games have taken things up a notch since the name and price change. Now two new great titles and a price drop have popped up in recent days, and they're worth the look.
BitStream is a simple racing game where you must drive a dot through a course. In essence it is actually a variant of one of the bit Generation games DotStream - but this version includes 1-8 player multiplayer (DotStream was SP only), online high scores and a music creation mode. It is a quality title that expands on the original game, and is only 400MSP. Check out the demo here.
Veks and Silence is a 2D side-scrolling shooter where you must destroy hordes of Zombies. While it certainly is an "ugly" game it is done by choice - pistols, shotguns and buckets of blood. Compared to almost all other XBL Indie Games this does appear to be one of the most full featured of the lot. Check out the demo here., only 400MSP.
