PSN Minis: Gameloft Reveal PSP Minis Lineup - What Can You Expect?

gameloftminis.pngGameloft have revealed their plans for the PSP minis program - 5 of their most popular titles are making their way over from the iPhone and onto the PSP mini program - Hero of Sparta, Let's Golf, Real Soccer 2010, Asphault 5 and UNO.

But what are each of these games, and what can we expect from them? How do they differ from their iPhone or DSi counterparts, and what prices might they retail at? We look at them all to give you a quick idea on what you might be seeing in just over a month's time.

Hero Of Sparta is Gameloft's equivalent of God Of War, so it's a little funny seeing it on this system. It was also one of Gameloft's more ambitious titles when it was released in 2008, and reviewed very well. As a combat game it should work well with some tactile feedback - though their is concern that doing so may reveal the games shortcomings in controls.

On the iPhone the game was released at $9.99, but as iPhone sales go it can now be picked up for $0.99.

Let's Golf, like Hero of Sparta, is a somewhat shameless knockoff of a Sony franchise, this time Everybody's Golf. The iPhone version features 4 different locations and 63 different holes, with 4 different characters and local wifi multiplayer.

Compared to the retail Hot Shots titles it features a couple less courses, but features twice as many as the two downloadable golf games on XBLA - Golf: Tee It Up and 3D Minigolf Adventures. Also, while it does feature numerous clothing options, it does not feature the absurd amount that Hot Shots does.

But for the much cheaper price it's a far better deal than other Golf games. Let's Golf on the iPhone was released for $5.99, but is now available for $1.99.

Real Soccer 2010 will be the sequel for the 2009 version - which was released on the iPhone as well as the Nintendo DSi. It will be an expansion of the original, but will also be the only version with straight-up button control - both the DSi and iPhone versions of 2009 feature a variety of gimmicky controls schemes - as the PSP mini is the only version of 2010 announced at this point, this might be the one to get.

The iPhone version of 2009 was released for $9.99, but is now available for a low $0.99 with 2010 likely being released in the next few months. The DSi version was released for the maximum 800 Nintendo Point price.

Gameloft's Asphalt series had made it to a ridiculous amount of platforms. It's a popular franchise across a multitude of mobile phones and Asphalt 5 will be coming to PSP minis and iPhone soon enough.

What will be interesting about this release is whether or not it the PSP minis version will include all of the features from the iPhone version - including the ability to play your own music and play online peer-to-peer racing. The iPhone version will also be supporting DLC with new tracks and cars - will this be able to carry over to the PSP mini with the file size limits?

Asphalt 4 was release on iPhone for $9.99, currently on sale for $0.99, while the recently released DSi version is 800 Nintendo Points, or $8.

Finally UNO is not such a big surprise - it will be similar to the versions being released on PSN, iPhone, DSi and WiiWare, and will support online multiplayer for up to 4 people. It will likely retail for $5 like the others.

So what do you think of all of these iPhone ports? If you're a PSP owner are you interested in these iPhone ports?
