PSN, XBLA: Battlefield 1943 - Over 80,000 Players Strong In Only One Day

Hearing about those server woes for Battlefield 1943 after the Xbox Live Arcade release hit? Well there is a reason for that - it's incredibly popular.

As of a day after its release the Leaderboards for Battlefield 1943 are currently over 80,000 strong, and that number continues to climb rapidly. I'd say that Battlefield 1943 is quite possibly the fastest selling XBLA title that we've ever seen - in comparison almost all of the Xbox Live Arcade titles for June have struggled to sell over 10,000 each, and this has octupled that in a day.

Congratulations to DICE for such a smash hit. Now to see how well the PlayStation Network version goes!

That is very very impressive, but still as a vet of the BF series, all you have to do is look at how popular bf2 was and still is.. it is very unfortunate that they would launch a game without considering the shear volume, especially when they release it in a way that would naturally clog any server farm... At 1200 MPs why wouldnt you buy it? Congrats on a very nice game.. not BF2 awesome, but then again it was only 1200points...
