XBLA: The Secret Of Monkey Island Coming To Xbox 360
Yes, it's been an awfully long time, but it appears that The Secret Of Monkey Island is coming back, and to the Xbox 360.
The German USK rating board has revealed that The Secret Of Monkey Island - Special Edition is on its way. This was the very original Monkey Island game, from all the way back in 1990. As for what makes it a Special Edition is currently unknown -- could they be re-doing the graphics? Could the game possibly have a voice cast?
The rating suggests that Activision might have some involvement in the project, but most likely this is simply Activision Europe rating the title for LucasArts, as they are the European publishing arm that LucasArts use. We can only assume this is an Xbox Live Arcade title, but there is a slim chance that this is a retail retelling of the original too.

Great idea. Shame if we don't get it on the PS3.
Old school adventure games are, IMHO, a genre that should/could be thriving on the PSN/Xbox Live. Cheap, good for "short rounds", small size.
It's a valuable backlog waiting to be used by companies...
I hope LucasArts goes all the way and gives us Day of the Tentacle, Indiana Jones, Grim Fandango, etc.
And Sierra: Leisure Suit Larry, Police Quest, Kings Quest, Hero's Quest and so many others...

amen to Charles Beasley - bring them all on! I honestly want to see some inventive uses of the achievements/trophies, too, maybe even a few new wee interactions or conversations to poke fun?

can't wait, hope they can give us a relase date soon.. plus does anyone rememer a game on the Amiga called WINGS OF FURY... that was ace.. hope to see that on xbox arcade soon

What about Sierra's Thexder that only got released on PSP? Or that old computer classic Future Cop: LAPD? Or the rest of the Monkey Island series? Or Full Throttle, The Dig? Or the first two Tropico's? Or...well, you get the idea. I actually wrote Lucas Arts about their back catalog and I got a generic letter and a sticker...woo.
