Earlier in March XNA Community Game developers were given the tools to change the pricing of their game after its release. While still restrictive compared to the iPhone store, it allows those who wish to make their games cheaper after being on the market for a period of time to decrease, or in some cases increase, the price of their game.

17 titles during March decided to change their prices, with many coming down to the 200MSP price point. The restrictions are still in place - a game over 50MB can not be less than 400MSP, and once you change your price you cannot change it back for 90 days.

Above is the list of games with the changes in place, along with links to the web marketplace for each game. I suggest giving Easy Golf, Colosseum, Crystal Crush, Totem and Fruit Attack a second look.

This kind of sucks for people who already bought these games. Well, all three of them, at least.

As for me, I think all the XNA hub-bubbing is going to make me take a second look at certain games. I doubt I'd ever consider paying money for a 'game' like Fireplace, but Easy Golf may have earned itself a sale.

Of course, at 200+ games, it'll take some time to look through them all, but a handful of them could use the benefit.

Eh, not really. Most of these games were totally worth their asking price. iPhone apps have sudden and limited sales too :)

DUOtrix is 200 space bucks now too. Well worth it, in my opinion.

I just wanted to thank you guys for your coverage of the business behind Community Games, I've really enjoyed the coverage and look at it.

Parabéns pelo Blog!

I think most of the Community games might still be overpriced even at 200 points. There are exceptions, but with so many titles it can be hard to find them.

I do know people who said they would have bought Colosseum if it had been 400 points when they first saw it. But I don't know that any of them will ever go back to Community games at all, much less notice that it is now at a reduced price.
