PSN, XBLA: The Original Call Of Duty Coming To Consoles For The First Time

Rating websites around the world are exploding with information, revealing a ton of new titles that we've yet heard a peep about. The latest being Infinity Ward's Original Call Of Duty, coming to the PlayStation Network and the Xbox Live Arcade.

Despite Call Of Duty 2 and beyond being incredible hits on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 - one game in the series never came to consoles. The original Call Of Duty was never released on the original Xbox or PlayStation 2 and only came out on PC, instead Activision pushed Call Of Duty: Finest Hour and Big Red One side stories to the consoles. This will mean that the Xbox 360 will now be the one console you can play every single mainline title in the Call Of Duty series.

The first game was released back in 2003 and won a ton of awards. It will be interesting to see if this holds up. Will it include just a single player mode, or will it come complete with the multiplayer as well? What of United Offensive, the game's one expansion pack? So many questions.

It's certainly an interesting game to be coming out from Activision. With the release of Vigilante 8 Arcade and the reveal that they are bringing Wolfenstein 3D to each platform, it's strange to see something so recent come back as well. Hopefully our plead for Tony Hawk 2 making a return isn't in vain.
