It certainly has a bit of a bizarre graphical design to it - the backgrounds and levels are very much taking the style from the original Arcade and NES game, while the character sprites are enhanced to a much higher resolution.

The article shows off the additional expert modes, available as downloadable content, as well as the Wi-Fi Rankings included in the game - something very much needed and usually omitted from WiiWare titles. It will split the rankings in both worldwide and region based ranking.
