PSN, XBLA: Zombies!!! And Wings Of War Coming To XBLA And PSN In 2009

Twilight Creations have revealed that their board game title Zombies!!! will be making its way to the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade. The developers, Big Rooster, have also revealed that they will be bringing Wings Of War to both systems as well.

"Zombies!!! puts you in the middle of the action as you try to escape the ever advancing zombie horde. Players must use a combination of wits and brawn to be the first to the heliport and certain escape. The only problem is, the zombies are everywhere, they appear to be very hungry and your opponents would really prefer if you didn't escape."

No screenshots have been revealed as of yet, but it will be interesting to see how well it works with a console controller. Being based on Zombies might also allow it to break into a better demographic that previous board games on XBLA.

Wings Of War - Famous Aces is also based on a board and card game variant by Fantasy Flight Games. From the looks of it (check out this Youtube video) it is a turn based dogfighting game in which you place cards to maneuver your miniatures and take down your opponent's fighters. It was made by Andrea Angiolino, an Italian game creator.

"Airplanes can be as different as the aces who command them and the fighters in Wings of War: Famous Aces are no exception. With a variety of maneuver and damage deck combinations, players must master each plane if they’re going to become a top ace. Players will deal with broken rudders, flaming engines, jammed guns, and a hail of bullets in their pursuit of the shooting down the enemy and winning the war—are you up to the challenge?"

Both games look like they could both do well in 2009. While Wings Of War is claiming to be a 2008 title, I would not be surprised to see it slip into next year. Big Rooster had previously been known for the development of Talisman - an XBLA board game title that was canceled by Capcom just a few months ago.

I'd be pretty wary of a console version of Zombies!!!. The tabletop game was fairly flawed, with gaping holes in its rules and card descriptions, as well as gameplay issues. It sold more on the theme itself and that it came with a hundred plastic zombie figures.

Over the years, the fan base worked to turn it into something more playable, but it still has flaws.

Hi Baines,
Thank you for your comments. I am sorry you find Zombies!!! "flawed." I am not really sure what gaping holes you are refering to, but I would be happy to discuss them with you. Please feel free to email me.

Zombies is great, being on Arcade will fill the problem of getting together players. Never found it flawed or gaping, nothing common sencve didnt fix

The only thing keeping me from buying the actual gameboard of zombies, is that nobody will play it with me. I'm kicking myself for buying wings of war. Both are amazing fun games, but now that I'll be able to play it on xbox live, it'll be great :3 I'm getting both for sure

Hi, you got a great website, I'm just looking for some websites about Twillight fans such as me because I've found an new release about the new Eclipse Saga. And want to know what you think about it? Maybe you can help with you opinion?! I really don't want to show shit around the globe!! Thanks
