XBLA: TGS 2008 - Microsoft Keynote Notes - Space Invaders Extreme, Arkanoid and More Announced

Today at the Microsoft TGS Keynote, they have announced the next wave of Xbox Live Arcade titles coming out way

Space Invaders Extreme is coming to the Xbox Live Arcade - just as it damn well should. I bought the DS version of this classic game and it truly is a fantastic addition. Think of Space Invaders meets Geometry Wars and Galaga Legions.

They will also be bringing Arkanoid Live to Xbox Live Arcade, most likely in a similar fashion to Arkanoid DS. Arkanoid Live will be loaded with 120 stages and will include online co-op and versus modes. Both Space Invaders Extreme and Arkanoid

Metal Slug 7 has been announced. This game, previously a Nintendo DS exclusive, will feature new missions, new weapons, colossal new bosses, new game modes, and new Slugs to pilot. How different it will be to the DS version is unclear.

King of Fighters '98 Final Bout, based on the recently released PS2 version in Japan, is essentially a remake of the biggest KOF game of its time. It has some redrawn sprites, as well as some new characters.

R-Type Dimensions will feature a new two-player local and online mode, and will allow players to switch seemlessly between a 2D and 3D experience.
