WiiWare: GoNintendo Has The Skinny On The Nintendo Media Summit

cavey.jpgThe lucky sods over at GoNintendo were invited to the Nintendo Media Summit, in which the people in North America were able to have a look at some of the games Nintendo announced late last week. They've got a ton of new previews of some of the most interesting titles that will be showing on later this year and into 2009.

- Cave Story Impressions
- World of Goo Impressions
- Strong Bad Episode 3 Eyes On Impressions
- Tetris Party Impressions
- Boingz Impressions

They have also cornered Tyrone Rodriguez and Pixel from Nicalis and interviewed them about how the Cave Story port to WiIWare came about.

RMC: How exactly did you go about securing Cave Story for the Wii?

TR: Like most people who have played the game, I was introduced to Cave Story by a friend a few years back and always thought it was amazing, freeware-or-not. Playing the game made me curious as to why no company had ever attempted to create a commercial port to any console. That led me to draft an e-mail to Amaya-san introducing myself and asking what he thought of the idea of a commercial port. After that initial e-mail and his response, we continued to correspond pretty regularly. A year’s worth of communication later, we both decided that it would be a good idea to bring it to Wii.
