Continue reading for some in-depth analysis of these numbers.

For the past month we've had two releases per week, however on the weeks of June 2nd and 9th one of these titles did not reach the top 10 of its release - Roogoo and Frogger 2.

Now this almost never happens. It shouldn't happen. Considering Roogoo has been getting some exceptional reviews it's really quite sad. Frogger 2 I can understand - the game was only announced officially the week of release, and the fact that they're trying to push what looked like a cheap flash game for 800 Microsoft Points, but Roogoo is a quality title.

Maybe it's the general 'kid' aesthetic that doesn't resonate with Xbox Live users, or maybe it's the fact that the service is flooded with all kinds of puzzle games, and maybe it's that the demo wasn't clicking for a lot of people. Hopefully Spider Monk will continue on and get that 'long tail' effect somehow.

Penny Arcade and Aces Of The Galaxy held on for some time, a little longer than usual, but as of this week have both dropped off. Wolf of the Battlefield is getting some great sales with two weeks in a row at the top - beating this weeks releases of Sealife Safari and Elements of Destruction, possibly due to the Street Fighter II Beta.

But again, the rest of the Top 10 is the same as ever. UNO, DOOM, Worms, Marble Blast, Sonic 2, Street Fighter II, and it's safe to say now that N+ will be staying for a long, long time. THIS is the long tail, games people wanted, but all games that (besides N+) didn't come out this year! Three of them from 2006!

What will be fascinating is to see just how everyone below the top 10 is doing. Considering UNO beat Aces in the week ending June 9th must say something for the actual sales of some of these games being so consistent with each other all the way through.

Or maybe all the sales are actually very low, with minuscule differences between all the games? Unless Sierra suddenly announces what their titles have been selling, we won't have much of a clue. Here's hoping things get better soon.

Roogoo is great. I'm not sure of the problem. I think some of it is the look. I think some of it is even just the name: it doesn't convey anything to anyone. And I think some of it is the demo, which might have benefited more from showing the gameplay changes you come across later in the game.

I do think a lot of it is just how XBLA is set up. I've only been seeing in Blade ads for Doolittle recently. I don't recall ever seeing one for Roogoo, although I'm sure it existed at some point.

There really needs to be a better way of informing 360 owners of what came out and what it is. Right now they can either go to Majornelson.com (and I can't tell you how many people don't know about him still) or view that little news icon... And frankly, I've stopped clicking on that in the blade because half of the items in it are about new video and film releases.
